The 2016 Gold & Steel Autumn Tour

Location #1: Atlanti-Con 5 – Corner Brook, Newfoundland

The 2016 Gold & Steel Autmn Tour is kicking off in just over a week when we roll into Corner Brook for the fifth annual Atlanti-Con convention from September 23rd to the 25th! Three days of fun all start on Friday evening as we have the pleasure of kicking off the panel presentations when Christopher Walsh and editor Erin Vance present: Fierce Women: The Representation of Women in Fantasy. This presentation will be taking place at 6pm on Friday the 23rd, right after the opening ceremonies of the convention

If you live on the west coast of Newfoundland, this will be your chance to meet the author and check out the new series that has people talking. Also in attendance will be Engen Books, publishers of the Sci-Fi From the Rock series (and many other fine books) which features a short story prequel to the Gold & Steel series titled Stealing Back Freedom.

Of the event, Walsh said: “I love the west coast of the island, it’s simply gorgeous there, especially this time of year and the people are just wonderful. It will be a pleasure to be back again after my visit last year for Atlanti-Con 4. It’s a trip I have been looking forward to since I got home from last year’s event.”

What’s the next stop on the tour?

Location #2: Windsor ComiCon – Windsor, Ontario

Our next stop on the tour takes us to the Windsor ComiCon taking place from October the 15th to 16th at the Caesars Casino in downtown Windsor, Ontario! Along with that stellar, All-Star lineup of talent, Ontario fantasy fans will have their chance to get their hands on As Fierce as Steel and Sci-Fi From the Rock and have them autographed by the author himself.

“Windsor is the city I consider to be my second home.” said Walsh of the event, “I grew so much as a person because of the time I spent living and working in the city, volunteering with Border City Wrestling and training at the Can-Am School of Wrestling in Windsor that it’s become indelibly etched into the fabric of who I am. When I first published As Fierce as Steel, I knew right away that I wanted to return to Windsor for a convention. It was something that had to happen and I’m so excited to be a part of Windsor ComiCon.”

But wait, we’ve got one more date to announce:

Location #3: Hal-Con – Halifax, Nova Scotia

After Windsor Comi-Con, Gold & Steel looks east once more, this time to Halifax for Hal-Con, which takes place from November 4th to the 6th at the World Trade and Convention Centre. Christopher Walsh will be on hand and with him will be copies of As Fierce as Steel and Sci-Fi From the Rock.

This is his first convention appearance in the Maritime provinces, a place Walsh is quite familiar with and was happy to speak on: “I lived for about a year in total on the south west coast of Nova Scotia. Atop that, I’ve driven across the province a few times both to get there and to cross the country and it’s a fantastic place from everything I have seen. One unique thing though, is that while I have passed through Halifax, I have yet to really spend any time there. With that said, I am really looking forward to Hal-Con as a chance to not only bring my work to the Hal-Con, but to really see Halifax for myself and experience this awesome city.”
